Alyssa Cole is great, I enjoy everything she writes.
The Hero was challenging in this, a man subjected to years of emotional neglect and abuse, suffering from anxiety but unwilling to acknowledge it through some toxic masculinity brainwashing. He had a long way to come through the story, and of course screwed it up, because unlearning stuff like that takes more than a month.
