Read First Comes Like

Read First Comes Like (Modern Love, #3) by Alisha Rai

Beauty expert and influencer Jia Ahmed has her eye on the prize: conquering the internet today, the entire makeup industry tomorrow, and finally, finally proving herself to her big opinionated family. She has little time for love, and even less time for the men in her private messages—until the day a certain international superstar slides into her DMs, and she falls hard and fast.

There’s just one wrinkle: he has no idea who she is.

Read this in one sitting, loved it! I really liked Jia. I enjoyed seeing Dev learn how to have a relationship with his niece at the same time he’s learning how to have a relationship with Jia.

There were a few places in the story where I wanted a little more to happen, but in general it built up some tension about what would happen. I feel like that made it a sweeter book than a lot of contemporaries. I thought the fake dating setup was a little weak.

Haha it didn’t occur to me that this book would be substantially clean till the ending 😉
