French lawmakers voted late on Saturday to abolish domestic flights on routes than can be covered by train in under two-and-a-half hours, as the government seeks to lower carbon emissions even as the air travel industry reels from the global pandemic.
Wow! I can’t imagine a United States in which we could agree, the emissions of short flights are not justifiable. Only possible in a country that built other forms of high speed transit. Maybe if we ever get a fast train along the west coast we could drop flights from Seattle to Portland and Vancouver. Can’t see it happening with Boeing here.
