Fine but unnecessary. Constrained by its short length, it had to lean a lot on archetypes and didn’t have space to develop rich characters. For what it was, it was fine, but it added nothing to the mythos and felt a little fan-service-y with weird flashbacks to former lives (which also doesn’t make sense unless this has happened multiple times, otherwise it would just be one former life) and highlighting emotional moments from the original run of Sweet Tooth that would mean little without having read the whole series.
