These things suggest regarding COVID as no longer an emergency, which is to say not a public policy problem, is unwise.
But… this is America. Being unwise about the public health consequences of access to healthcare is kind of our brand.
We have shown – for long time before the pandemic – how little we care about our healthcare system, and how little we expect of it, and how little we think of it as a mete subject for public policy consideration.
And COVID is never going away because deer are reservoirs.
