Why Save This?

Liked Content, bloat, privacy, archives – petermolnar.net (petermolnar.net)

I spent a lot of time trying centralising my online activities, including adding bookmarks and imports from social networks. Lately my site looked bloated and unmaintainable. I started questioning what data is my data, what data should or could I own – it was time to rethink some ideas.

Over the past year of using this mind garden, I’ve amassed 88 pages of posts and bookmarks — so I appreciate this reminder to consider *why* I’m saving something, and what I think I’ll want it for. I have to be careful about my tendency to save articles just because I read it and went “yeah!” and to make sure I think about it a little deeper.
