We are all tired of the pandemic, but one group in particular — chronically ill people — know that you can’t ignore your way out of an untreated health issue.
For those of us who have been offered no option but to shelter in place since early 2020, many feel our ongoing confinement is not unlike an international human rights violation.
The determination to approach COVID mitigation with as few measures as possible in order to allow the most freedoms possible fails to acknowledge whose freedoms are granted and whose are disregarded.
As the pandemic continues unabated, siloed mitigation efforts continue to shift responsibility and culpability to individuals and away from a negligent public health system.
