Weeknotes: Dec. 17-23 2022

We got a bunch of snow! One morning I woke up a little early and just enjoyed a cup of tea while I watched it fall. Then today we got freezing rain 😑

Stuff I did this week

  • worked on my book’s plot for 4 hours, revamping from the midpoint through the climax to create better character arcs and eliminate a plot element that had pushed its way in but I wasn’t excited about writing
  • went to Sarra Cannon’s livestream workshop on planning your writing year
  • fleshed out my plan for writing the remainder of the book based on both The 12 Week Year and Sarra Cannon’s workshop
  • met with a business advisor who helps small businesses contract with the government
  • set up some consulting work in January
  • hung out with a friend on Discord
  • worked on my Q4 check-in and my 2022 personal review
  • did some stretching and myofascial release on my back because my shoulders / neck / upper back have been sore 🤕

  • finished reading The 12 Week Year for Writers by Trevor Thrall, Come As You Are by Emily Nagoski, The Undertaking of Hart and Mercy by Megan Bannen, and Alien Mercenary’s Heart by Mina Carter
  • re-read Contagion by Amanda Milo
  • started reading For the Wolf by Hannah Whitten
  • still working on The Shallows
  • DNF’d Book Boyfriend by Kris Ripper
  • added 28 books to my TBR from books that will be published in 2023 and more end-of-year recommendation lists

Website changes

  • updated my profile to remove a link to Twitter
  • updated my homepage with more links
  • updated my now page
